I keep telling her to fill up with premium because I’m fairly confident the dealer handed it to us with regular. Wonder how quick the Mazda tuning adapts to the higher octane fuel.
Most likely they did.
I’ve been putting 93 in it since day one, but I believe that my dealership also put 87 in it for the test drive. I guess their train of thought is “why pay more than we have to.” An extra 13% increase in power should be tangible.
I’m waiting for corksport to ship me their intake + turbo inlet pipe kit. The kit plus the oem tune should yield an increase of 25hp & 20-ish torque at 2500rpm, according to cork sports dyno graph. I do a lot of highway driving, so that midrange bump will be welcome.

I think one of you gents should be our guinea pig and install the Burger Motorsports JB4 in the CX-50.

Hi everyone. New owner of a CPO turbo premium plus with 80 miles that was a hardly used loaner. Better then new warranty as a result. Replaced my Genesis GV70. This thing is gorgeous and has ad much luxury for 15K less!!!. The 20 inch wheels are extraordinary and for 999 are covered for 5 years being low profiles. While I stole this vehicle for 37995 I feel I stepped in shit and will enjoy it whole heartedly. I'm grateful to find this forum and will be updating my experiences. Build date is June 2022 6 months after the first one rolled out of the new Alabama factory. My first Mazda since I was a kid owning an RX2 with the Wenkel rotary man was that fast. Sold it after driving through a huge puddle fast and ending up airborne like a rock skimming a lake. What an experience scared me to death yet taught me about what a design phenomenon the rotary engine was for the times. Mazda is something else and the CX50 is drop dead gorgeous inside and out. More to come. Thank you for having me! Nothing like owners sharing experiences.

Welcome to the CX-50 club! Ordered our Soul Red TPP in February and picked it up 2 weeks ago. Loving it so far!

Ours is a tp. Tpp was not available in a color we wanted. Funny when we were talking to salesman my wife made sure it ran on regular. When they filled it they used premium. So being brand new and computers adjusting to our driving I’m guessing this premium is going to be wasted :(. This is my wife’s truck. I managed to talk her out of another Outback and into this. Never owned a Mazda and wanted to try one. Still thought they had the rotary engine :D. She wanted the popular blue/gray but they couldn’t get it with a black interior. Very hard to find a black interior. But they did find my color the machine gray metallic. Almost the color of my STI I just traded for a pickup. So far enjoying this truck. Like the speed on the windshield and the Bose radio is outstanding. Didn’t care for the center screen at first but liking it. Trying to answer the phone I realized it not a touch screen. Figured it out though. 3 days out and still havnt seen another on the road! Living in New York that’s saying something :). My trucks a Nissan Frontier I bought in November. Got it and there wasn’t any of those on the road and none in my neighborhood. Now there’s at least 5.

Yeah, this drives most people nuts that the touchscreen is locked once the car is in gear, Mazda locked it out for safety reasons. Personally, I'd rather use the commander knob to control everything. However starting with the CX-50, if you are using ACP/AA the touchscreen can be unlocked while driving. Mazda calls it "Touchscreen in Motion", see page 17 in the links on how to toggle this feature on.

On a side note, I like the color of your Nissan.

I agree with you. Having owned 3 other Mazdas, I’m used to using the center knob and not have to fiddle with the infotainment screen.

Yes, it has become second nature. My daughter's Jeep Compass allows use of the touchscreen and I don't like using it. I find I take my eyes off the road more when I am trying to find the right button to press. Then if you hit a bump, forget about it. haha I do find it a bit comical though that Mazda chose the CX-50 to introduce this. From day one they have locked it out, citing safety but they allow it on the model where the infotainment screen is set further in the dash than the other models?
