Hey all! New owner of a jet black cx-50 tpp. Less than a month old. Love the way she rides...0 issues so far. My last mazda (also my first vehicle ever) was a 1996 mx6, bought new. Still miss her!

Congratulations on your new Mazda. Black looks great on the 50. Black interior, too?
Terracotta. Have to break up the darkness somehow.
Silver paddle extensions
Did you get the ones for the CX-30 and do they fit well?

I amazoned mine for the quick delivery. There are a few options to choose from as well. Just make sure the oem paddles matches the descriptions.

Fitment is pretty spot on. Sits flush as if it belongs there originally. It'll look oem if you get it in black to match the factory paddles...just longer. But the look is definitely subjective...

Yes, because what if you want the car to hold a gear and keep the engine in the powerband? You can keep the turbo spooled.
Hadn’t thought of it the Cx-50 as a vehicle I try to keep spooled.

Wait, there's paddles on manuals too?

What a ridiculous edit. Your boy racer wannabee is showing, and nobody is impressed.

That was my thought, as well.

I do a lot of highway driving, and getting the turbo spooled before executing a passing maneuver makes the engine much more responsive for when I want the car to accelerate.

Yeah. It’s referred to as a sequential manual gearbox, a dual clutch transmission etc. it’s what the paddles in our cars are mimicking.

Yeah I’m a boy racer sparky. I’m going to go hop in my wife’s Cx-50 and spool the turbo.

Still not a manual. They are automated.

Lol at least you have a good sense of humor, kid.

Splitting hairs but yes it’s a manual gearbox with automated capabilities. I’ve used them on my E60
m5 and 135i. Tried using it the day we bought our ecoboost Flex and never tried it again. Maybe I’ll give it a shot on the wife’s car next time I drive it. I just don’t think of it as fast. Maybe the paddles will change my mind.

Sounds good; give it a shot. I just like having fun with it on my daily commutes. I don’t have a sports car anymore after my Z was totaled, and for me this car scratches the itch a little bit until I get another sports car. I agree, it’s not fast, per se, but I think it’s quick for what it is.

I keep telling her to fill up with premium because I’m fairly confident the dealer handed it to us with regular. Wonder how quick the Mazda tuning adapts to the higher octane fuel.
