I have a Hybrid preferred and just got my Curt trailer hitch. I also got the C59236 " Curt Powered Tail Light Converter with 4-Pole Flat Trailer Connector" kit. I need to tap into the 12v battery by the spare tire. Has anyone done this that might have pictures for the connection and routing?

Did you find a route to the battery?
Yes. It was a very short run. The battery is is in the passenger side of the cargo compartment. The storage compartment with the fencing in front of it, pops off to access the battery. But there is a fuse box with posts under floor cover to the right side of the spare tire. If you open the very front cover on that there is a positive post you can connect to.

Great! Sounds better than if the battery was in the engine compartment. I just ordered a hitch and wiring kit from etrailer
It took me a little more disassembly in the cargo area but I ended up using the Curt C45FV wiring kit. It plugs into the tail light connectors instead of using a t-splice. The video on etrailer's website did the install completely inside and the flat connector stores in the spare tire space. You just pull it out and drape it over the bumper away from the latch. Since I only plan on towing a small utility trailer a few days a year for mulch and such, it was ideal. Most of the time I plan on using the receiver for my bike rack.
