Be Advised I will No Longer offer Any Support to Mazda Owners who Do Not obtain these Genuine Mazda Firmware Files from Me.
If you Download from YouTube or Other Links then Do Not ask for any help from me if or when it goes bad. Most of the other 'suppliers' do not offer any Support or include Full Instructions and or are issuing the wrong files for your Country or car.
I am simply not prepared to waste my time when some of you are impatient and or cannot wait for my reply(s).

Most PC Browsers (Google Chrome or MS Edge) offer Translation from a drop down, top far right.

WARNING: DO NOT USE ANY SMART PHONE TO DOWNLOAD FIRMWARE AND INSTALL OF FIRMWARE ONTO USB FLASH DRIVE........ ONLY USE A PC - LAPTOP.

NOTE: THERE ARE SOME PEOPLE CHARGING YOU FOR THESE UPDATES IN RUSSIA or UKRAINE, I NEVER CHARGE YOU, YOU DO NOT PAY FOR NEW FILES, EVER!

ALSO NOTE: YOU CAN NOT CHANGE or SWAP INFOTAINMENT SYSTEMS.

ALL CX-50s USE the 7th GENERATION MAZDA CONNECT ONLY.
7th Gen MAZDA HOME SCREEN Above in the White Text on Black Screen.

6th Gen MAZDA HOME SCREEN has the Red Select Icons on Black Screen.

For those interested Mazda updates Firmware or Software for Genuine Mazda Connect about 1 to 2 times per year for Mazda Dealer Service Departments as a download file.

Mazda also uses auto OTA (Over The Air) Firmware Updating in high spec models which in most cases works fine provided you have a TCU Telematics Control Unit with the appropriate local phone carrier data set up.
Or you can Update Manually this firmware, this is usually done at Mazda Dealer Service Dept level if you complain of any Mazda Connect usage issue.
Unfortunately Mazda Dealers do not always update Firmware unless instructed to or again owner complains of a particular problem, like their cars CarPlay not working.

The reasons for updates are like any Software Updates to fix bugs and or features not working correctly, like CarPlay not working at all as on the first released CX-50's.

Not Available as a Standalone Update File FROM Me.
@ The Final Update Version.
...........

In many cases unfortunately not all Mazda Dealers update your Firmware/Software as part of the normal Service Schedule. They only update if directed to do so by MNAO or Owner (you) complain of a particular problem with their Infotainment, called Mazda Connect.

So I advise you check the Version running in your CX-50 now by doing the above.

The Current Genuine Mazda Updateable Versions for CX-50 is.....
7000C0A-NA05_11026 or
7230C1A -NA01_10014 (late 2024-2025).
NO VERSION For 2025 Hybrid CX-50 is Available.

If your CX-50 is Below this number of 11026 like 11019 then yes you can update your cars Infotainment.
If your CX-50 is already on or Above 11026 then obviously you can not update as only 11026 file version is currently available at Mazda Dealer level.
Note New Update for 2024-2025 CX-50 Now Available from October, 2025.
On the production trim line @ MTM Production Level in most cases you will always see a later or a higher numbered Version.

Yes we in Forum can help you with new Genuine Mazda file Updates if you want a Standalone copy for cars CMU yourself, please only Private Message me here...click on this LINK to PRIVATE MESSAGE me ONLY, just after this Yellow Text!

IF you are after Genuine Mazda Firmware as listed MESSAGE me Here in this Forum,
I ONLY have NA05 or NA01 Firmware for North America,
I Do Not have 4A05 for South American markets.

New Members must post in Forum to Qualify.

PLEASE DO NOT ASK for FIRMWARE FILES in MULTIPLE MAZDA FORUMS.?
IF YOU ARE Messaging "ASH8" which is ME, then I Am THE SAME PERSON !

Each Country or Region usually has their own Versions.
DO NOT Attempt to update to ANY other Higher Version from say any EU Mazda CX-60 because it is a later version or a higher number than yours, it is Not the same car as the CX-60 is not sold in North America. Firmware is NOT the Same.

Only use NA05 or NA01 for North American CX-50.

It is not difficult to install and much much easier than Gen 6 in older Mazda's.
These files will not be publicly made available, however you can message me for the update file copy if your selling Mazda Dealer does not run the update for you.

As Mazda distribution only offers updates about 1 to 2 times per year in many cases If you have just bought your brand new CX-50 then the Version installed on the production line is always a newer or later version or a higher number than what Service Departments can offer. I suggest you check annually to see if an update is now available, if there is a later version you can if you wish update Connect yourself, an easy .Pdf Instructions are also provided.

ALSO NOTE: Do not rely on your Mazda Dealer to update your Firmware for Connect as most never will unless you complain of a specific issue or fault.

Here is the Changelog BELOW for all Mazda Connect FIRMWARE updates for NA05 CX-50s,
right now there is no changelog for the New October 2025, 7230C1A_NA01_10014 Update.

Some vehicles may experience the symptoms mentioned below, which can be fixed with the latest software update (Version 7000C0A-NA05_11026).

NOTE: Over-the-air update (OTA) for MAZDA CONNECT is available in the U.S. and Canada (CX-50 only).
BUT as OTA will ONLY Accept Files no larger than about 200-250MB in File Size.

NOTE:
  • iPod, iPhone, and Apple CarPlayTM are registered trademarks of Apple Inc.
  • Android and Android AutoTM are registered trademarks of Google LLC.
  • The Bluetooth® word mark and logos are registered trademarks owned by Bluetooth SIG, Inc.
(Ver. 7000C0A-NA05_11026) fixes these software errors (bugs):
  • The Mazda Connect system restarts when the ACC is turned on.
  • The system does not resume the play list after editing a play list for a USB audio device.
  • The customization setting value may change after removing and reinstalling the battery.
  • Video files in a USB connected device may not be played.
  • Connection with iPhone may fail.

  • Turning the display OFF and then ON does not show the song information while a song is paused on the CarPlay screen.
  • The smartphone may not be charged when a smartphone is connected to a USB port while connected to Wireless CarPlay

(Ver. 7000C0A-NA05_11022) fixes these software errors (bugs):
  • In very rare cases, the screen does not show a proper picture when receiving the Sirius XM data.
  • When using the navigation with head-up mode, the vehicle icon rotates.
  • A beep sounds every couple of minutes.
  • The language setting may not be accepted correctly.
  • The audio track may not pause when pressing the mute button.
  • The screen freezes when a smartphone receives messages under Bluetooth® connection.
  • The system cannot accept changing the audio source into Bluetooth® from the wireless CarPlayTM.
  • The vehicle location does not match on the navigation map.
  • A distance to the next turn-by-turn point does not change on the Active Driving Display when using CarPlayTM navigation.
  • The system fails to establish a wireless CarPlayTM connection.
What Hardware Needed...
Obviously the .kwi Software File which is now updated and
then a Suitable USB Flash Drive Unit, like..
.
TYPE A (Square-Male) to....will also need a USB C Adapter...
TYPE C (Oval Shape-Male)....
YES You can use an ADAPTER Type A to Type C on later CX-50 Models.

DO NOT USE any Multi Port Point Adapter Types.
DO NOT USE ANY ‘’MICRO USB CARDS’’ MOUNTED INTO ANY USB DRIVE.

GRACENOTE
File for Music Album Art can be downloaded directly from Mazda to your PC, you then put onto a USB Flash Drive and install yourself MANUALLY in your cars USB Port...Select your Region first...See Link.

Suggest you CX-50 guys check to make certain you have correct version 11022 or higher for your Mazda Connect installed as quite a few CX-50s had CarPlay and AndroidAuto issues and cars were subject to a Dealer Campaign DRW46 to update CMU before your delivery...if you are having CP/AA problems this could be reason why.

Notes: YOU CAN NOT INSTALL WRONG FIRMWARE IN ANY GEN 7 MAZDA CONNECT, PLUS YOU CAN NOT CHANGE THE COUNTRY FIRMWARE VERSIONS LIKE NA to EU or to 4A or Visa Versa.

Your Cars CMU WILL NEVER ACCEPT ANY INCOMPATIBLE FILES.

YOU ALSO CAN NOT INSTALL or CHANGE TO ANOTHER MODEL VERSION LIKE NA01 to NA06, or EU03 to EU07 or NA07 to EU07.

You can ONLY Update the Original Version that is currently installed from Mazda in your car now if, repeat if any Update is available like example NA05-10006 Updated to NA05-10012.

I can attest to ASH8 providing legitimate and very helpful Infotainment support for quite some time now--I found your guides and input very helpful in the past for tracking new firmware and updating my 2016 & 2019 CX-5's earlier Infotainment systems. (y)

#4 ·
Also, interestingly, my vehicle shows the Gracenote version as 1.1.1.02322, but when I check online on the Connect website, the current Region 2 (US etc) download is 1.1.1.02071--apparently an older version than what came on mine from the factory. When I Google 1.1.1.02322, I only get a small number of links to what appear to be someone's blog in Japan from 2020 & 2021.

For those interested Mazda updates Firmware or Software for Mazda Connect about 1 to 2 times per year.

Mazda has attempted to do OTA (over the air) firmware updating which in most cases works fine provided you have TCU Telematics Control Unit with appropriate phone carrier.
Or you can update manually, this is usually Only done at Mazda Dealer Service dept level.

The reasons for updates are like any other Software Updates is to fix bugs and or features not working correctly.
To check what is installed in your CX-50 right now is do the following..

CMU Software Version Verification Procedure
1. Turn the ignition to ACC or to ON.
2. Select ”Settings” on the Home screen.
3. Select “System Setting”.
4. Select “System Information”.
5. Select “Version Information”.
6. CMU System Software version number should be listed like 11003,
Gracenote is the music title file version and updates with new firmware.
Can ONLY update system you can Not downgrade to any earlier Versions.

In most cases unfortunately not all Mazda Dealers update your Firmware/Software as part of the normal Service Schedule. They usually only update if directed to do so by MNAO or Owner (you) complains of a particular problem with Infotainment.

So I suggest you check the version running in car now by doing above.
Current Update Version for CX-50 is NA05_11014
If your CX-50 is Below this number 11014 like 11010 then yes you can update your cars Infotainment.
If your CX-50 is on or Above 11014 then obviously you can not update as only 11014 file version is available.
Yes I can help you with NA05_11014 file version if you want a copy to update yourself.

Each country or Region has their own Versions and as CX-50 is ONLY sold in North America DO NOT Attempt to update to any higher version from say EU CX-60 because it is a later version or a higher number, it is Not the same car as the CX-60 is not sold in North America.
Only NA05 (North America 05 is ONLY for CX-50 and only sold in NA).

It is not difficult to install and much much easier than Gen 6 in older Mazda's.
These files will not be publicly made available, however you can message me for an update file if your selling Mazda Dealer does not run the update for you.
I can also attest to his legitimacy, he is like the superhero of Mazda but just doesn't wear a cape 😛. I've updated my cx-30 infotainment system multiple times using his files and guides that he provided 😍

No,.... Mazda Japan does NOT Always list any changelogs at all to their Distributors, MNAO (USA, CAN, Mexico) says no according to my North American contact.....

Sometimes they do list all the changes and to address 'a' particular issue.

In almost all cases it is an improvement over what Firmware it replaces.

Hey Great to see mate...working CarPlay and AA.!
And Yes, your Mazda Dealer should of updated this outdated Firmware, unfortunately unless you complain to Mazda Dealer about any Connect issue they won't do anything constructive..

#11 ·
Please take the time to set up your profile as well as an introduction with the exact trim and if it's a us or Canadian model along with what device you're trying to use for the wireless carplay or Android auto. Also, what is the firmware that your system is running in the cx50?

Yesterday, Mazda Cx-50 turbo premium was delivered to me. First attempt with Mazda salesmen to connect my iPhone 12 failed. Second went through, bug when I went for a first ride iphone disconnected while I was driving. Today morning I tried to connect again but no luck.
Firmware is the newest 11014.
I am a bit disappointed with Mazda already.
Hopefully they will come with another update which will fix this problem.
Until there is no uptdaye they should at least include sd card with maps.

I had mine in for a new windshield and asked them to look at the Carplay disconnecting. They kept it 2 extra days so their Mazda rep could get involved. The answer...they could not replicate and the rep said they have not had any other complaints about the same issue.

Many thanks for your kind words. :)
Look for those unsure you do not have to be an I .T. Professional just basic PC skills like knowing what a USB Flash Drive is as this is the only piece of hardware you'll ever need to do 99% of software updates on your Mazda CX-50.
Just following 100% ALL Included Mazda Instructions.
Oh and you know what a .Pdf file is (Instructions are in .Pdf).

Having worked for Mazda at wholesale and also retail Dealer level in fixed operations for many years I have nothing against them, on the contrary most are very good, but like all car Dealerships only a few excell. Mazda does it better than most.

A Tip, IF you regularly get your Mazda Serviced and do not abuse car then that is all Japan expects you to do, IF YOU have ANY issues even long out of new car warranty Mazda has an excellent Goodwill Warranty Policy worldwide, you may have to contribute (the Dealers time) but most of it is not needed, particularly if you are a Returning new car Buying customer at your Dealership.

JUST BE POLITE ! and NEVER demand, you will find in most cases your Mazda Dealer Service Advisor will come through. Just politely ask if your Dealer would consider approaching Mazda's Goodwill Warranty Policy with MNAO ask them to collate any ongoing issues you have had.

Mazda also has unpublished Extended Warranties on many parts which are supplied by 2nd or 3rd party manufacturers say like Panasonic or Diesel Kiki, etc.

Remember no matter how frustrated you maybe your Dealer can see this and believe me they don't need it either, they want you happy too.
For all new models any large cost fix can take time as Japan has the final say and the testing of.

Many thanks. How "warm" should the "heated steering wheel" be? When mine works, (50% of the time) it's barely warm. Also, is it just me, or are the windshield wipers just really inadequate? (can't handle bugs hitting the windshield) Particularly the smaller passenger side wiper. Is there an adjustment somewhere? Last question, Do you have a link to the TSB, (Technical Service Bulletin)
Thanks again!

Mate that is Connected Services FAQ .Pdf which I have posted in other websites, try Mazda 3 Revolution.

Your issue was Heated Steering Wheel and Bugs hitting windscreen and Wipers.

You really need to complain to your Mazda Dealer about these issues, I have seen a few on Heated Wheel for CX-5 from memory but that is not your car.
A Dealer will test the Steering Wheel and see if it is within specs, if not they will replace it.

As I said not yet and when and IF I will post.
I have MESSAGED you for more private info..

So I haven’t had any issues with the charger, however the wireless CarPlay isn’t connecting somethings.

Anyone know the reboot procedure for the connect system? My cx5 was holding down mute/home and some thing else for 10 secs; does the cx50 have the same???

Need to know what Version Number is in car now.
1. Turn the ignition to ACC or to ON.
2. Select ”Settings” on the Home screen.
3. Select “System Setting”.
4. Select “System Information”.
5. Select “Version Information”.
6. See 'System Software'
Version Number like eg 11007 is revealed.

If it is Below 11014 then you should update it.

#25 ·
Because you don't get what you want does not mean there is a fault with car or policy is bad or they cant give you what you believe you need if they dont know yet or have not got a fix yet for what you think is wrong with car, my close to 3 decades where I live working for and at Mazda their policy is excellent. No car manufacturer is perfect, none. But customers can be real a PITA.
No evidence...JD Power customers satisfaction is number 1 or 2 in Australia, and recently USA number 1.

Having dealt with issues with my last two cars (lemon with Ford)... Semi lemon with Kia, but only 1 year to file that where I live. I am loving Mazda.

I would like to submit a couple of worthwhile software tweaks to them and I don't know how to do that, but so far, this car is like a dream, since it just works. I drive a lot more now.

You are so correct that no one can get it right 100% of the time, but I tend to agree that if you treat people with respect and not with anger and hostility, goodwill is infinitely better.

I'm in your corner on this one, ASH8. Now, if you know how I can send some polite requests to Mazda's software team, feel free to DM me. I tried Twitter, but never got a response.

#31 ·
Any chance someone can send me the Mazda Connect system version 70.000.XXX? I'm new to this forum so don't have the permission to DM ... @ASH8
That is for the old generation Mazdas with the Mazda connect systems. Wouldn't be made available here through Ash here as he has dedicated threads on every forum for the specific models. We suggest you locate one of those forums and check there for the proper software and guidance.

Does anyone have a problem with their CX-50 that right after you start the car if you shift to R the screen turns black and you can't control it? I can hear music from the Radio but can't lower the volume. If I stop the car, put in R again and then D it turns back on. It's very frustrating because I always have to back out of my garage.

#39 ·
Anyone have any idea why the infotainment would start freezing up and restarting itself every 5 minutes or so? Also, CarPlay is near unusable all the sudden. Opening the music app on CarPlay leaves it totally unresponsive. I did just update the TCU, but I doubt that would be related. Any suggestions?

#40 ·
Ironic, I did the TCU update two days ago and today mine started doing the exact same thing. On a 30 minute drive the system reset every 5-7 minutes.
ASH8, do you think the TCU update messed up our connect software?
