Hi,

I just recently put my order for a 2023 CX-50 GT Turbo (Canada). Was told my car will arrive at the dealership in 5-6months. I was wondering if by that time, will the 2024 production start and my order will get converted into a 2024 model?

Don't put deposits on anything and dealers stop this game. They will never stock anything until people make them. No one wants to carry inventory. But you don't order bread from Safeway.... if they could get away with that they would though. It's always people choice. Sadly people are followers not leaders.

What game are you referring to?
The lack of stock due to supply chain issues (microchips etc.)?
I fail to see how a refundable deposit on a $50,000 vehicle and a loaf of bread at Safeways has any correlation to supply and demand.
I buy bread once a week, a vehicle, not quite as often.🤔

I placed a deposit for a CX-50, was told the waiting time is 5-6 months (Canada). I recently found a CX-50 of the specs I want on the lot at a different dealer. How does one go about cancelling the order and getting a deposit back from the original dealer. This is my first time doing this, would appreciate any advice.

They told me a similar time frame at first but my Zircon Sand/Terracotta CX 50 GT Turbo took 10 months and 1 week. Last I heard the factory still can't get enough people to run a second shift so a longer wait and a 24 year model is all but a guarantee imo.

The one thing that might limit the time delay compared to mine is that US dealerships have inventory now, or at least that's what I'm seeing from videos online. Rumor was Mazda put a priority on the US market which made wait times in Canada that much longer.

That said, I was told my colour and trim selection was very popular so that also could have added to my wait as well, but If they're stocked up down there then maybe you get it in 6 months depending on what you chose?
