Wheel lug nut torque setting(s)

Never have I owned a vehicle that has such a range in recommended wheel torque settings.
80-108 ft/lbs.
Well I guess I have actually, both my recent CX 30 and 3 hatch have the same settings.

I go for 100 ft/lbs because…..it’s easy to see on the torque wrench.
🤣
Not feeling to strong today go for 80, or feeling energized go for 108. 🤔
Odd.

Hmmm, I haven't seen that before. Maybe Mazda gives the min/max torque settings whereas others just give a number in the middle. In that case 94 for Mazda?

Local dealer Service Manager said they set it to 100 on all. So monkey see….monkey do.😎

Mazda always seems to quote this same range. I'm not sure why they do that, but I also use 100 ft-lbs. It's in the range, and the same as my other vehicles so I don't have to keep adjusting the torque wrench.

Are you returning your torque wrench back to zero after use?
That is the proper procedure when done using.
Just a fyi.

You know, I didn't actually know that. I guess I'd better start doing that! Still, having the same torque on multiple cars remains handy for me, because I usually swap summers/winters for two vehicles on the same day.
