The question of would you buy one again has been asked (and this isn't intended as a repeat of that thread), but what was it that made you choose it before it found its way into your driveway? Was it the Mazda name? Fact it is American built, on a line shared with Toyota?
For me (disclaimer, there is some rambling involved), it really was a bit of being in a pinch. I didn't have months to research and test drive or wait for Ford to release the new Escape this Spring. Nor did I have the time to custom order anything, even the Chevy Trailblazer I originally was looking for. Eventually, it boiled down to a Mitsubishi Eclipse Cross, Nissan Murano, or Mazda CX-50, because the CX-5 didn't sit high enough and was too curvy,, and you feel the road too much in one of those. And Hyundai is famous for dishonoring warranties, and Kia is practically a rebranded Hyundai.
I liked how well the CX-50 handled on some curvy roads, my dad had a 626 sedan back in the day and loved it, and even with an employee discount, I would've had to spend more to get a Murano or Rogue of the same luxurious caliber the CX-50 Premium Plus has even if the CVTs didn't scare me off. Yes, the lease payments would be cut in half with a Murano instead and yes, I still wish I had found my Trailblazer locally or the new Escape been available sooner, and this in part is why I leased, and didn't finance, but for my situation the CX-50 was the best value for the money.
And I still have yet to find another one on the road. So glad I didn't get a CX-5, they're too popular. But I do see Trailblazers everywhere,
Anyway, what about you?
