For those who have already purchased their CX-50, how much did you pay out the door? and what trim level/packages did you get?

I paid 2% under sticker. But the trick is what other fees are on your contract. Doc Fee other misc fees. Did you get roped into service contracts, extended warranty, anti-theft stuff and trade allowance. That’s where dealers make up what they “gave” you off sticker. They also make dealer holdback and banks sometimes give kick backs if dealer gets you to finance with one of “their” banks. Don’t get caught up on what they gave off sticker cause they probably made that and a whole lot more money on you!!

picked up a polymetal gray turbo meridian new for 41k with .9 percent interest for 60 months
traded in a 2008 hummer H3 with 101k miles and they gave me 4200.00 (good considering it’s had two accidents) I also put 7k down

picked it up at Sheehy Mazda in Hagerstown Maryland, was the only meridian on the lot

The sales person in MD offered the 2024 S. Premium trim for $39,990 OTD, but I was about to negotiate it to $36,750 OTD. I was able to qualify for a 60 month finance at 0.9% APR. I put 7k down, so my monthly payments are at $500, but I also got the 10 year warranty so it is at $550 a month.

Excluding sales tax and other miscellaneous fees, the car alone was about $32,500 (after 6% sales tax and $2,300 in other fees, adds up to the $36,750).

I feel like I could've done much better negotiating, but this was my first time buying a car. Lesson learned for next time.

I got lucky the last time I bought a car 10 years ago... had to walk away from the first dealer this time around.
I offered MSRP $32,690 OTD for a base model Red '24 still on the lot. I went upto $33K They wouldn't come below $34K... $1000 for Nitrogen in the tires... $1600 for a wax job every 6 months??? They were not serious.
2nd dealer I offered MSRP $32,315 OTD, they came back with $32,641. I probably could have got them down a bit more, but I plan to keep the car a long time, so it wasn't worth the hassle. Deal done.

2025 Premium Plus, non-turbo, machine grey, with the accent package, cargo package, cargo mat, retractable cargo cover. Sticker MSRP was $40,525. OTD price was $38,820, supposedly the Costco price. I sold two cars, which more than paid for the CX50. OTD price does not include tax and licensing which, here in Washington, amounted to roughly another $2k (I traded in one of the cars I "sold", which brought down the sales tax of 7.9%). So, overall, I paid close to MSRP. So, again not including sales tax and licensing, about 4.2% under MSRP.

2025 Preferred, Non-turbo, Machine Gray Black lug nuts, Weather package, Roadside assistance kit MSRP $34,280
plus taxes, doc, shipping etc (another $1,710) bringing the total to $35,990
OTD $31,857

No pressure to purchase extra insurance, or a maintenance package.
Traded in 2013 Mazda 3 ($2500) cash another $9,000 and the Mazda Loyalty $750
We owe $19,547, which we'll pay off after January.

Now the "hard part" a steep learning curve with all of the options.

Shopping involved six different dealers in IL and IN. We were not trading in so the playing field was level.

Deal was made July 31, 2025 at Scherer Mazda in Peoria IL, not local to us by 140 miles, and our car will come in as part of an order they're expecting sometime in September. We were willing to wait so they could order it exactly as we wanted it equipped at a price we wanted to pay, and they were agreeable to doing that. There wasn't a Cypress green one within 350 miles of us anyway at the time, and most other Preferreds I saw online had stickers in the $34,000 range, so I knew that those had numerous options we didn't want. Best advertised deal I saw on one exactly like we wanted was in San Jose CA at $31,020. Can't go that far!

2025 Preferred model, no dealer add-ons, no additional Mazda supplied options at all. (we will supply cargo mats and other things ourselves for far less)
MSRP was $31,850. Destination charge of $1495, and it becomes $33,345 for the sticker price. Most places initial offer to me right at the start was "dealer invoice", which on ours was $32,549. I declined them all, I'd already seen better offers elsewhere farther away. Some dealers wouldn't budge after that, so I took them off the list. Only one called back to check in, still with no movement on price.
After a week of back and forth with two places willing to work with me on ordering a car at a better discount than invoice, nothing got too contentious, the Scherer discount went to $1145 off. I had asked for $1200. We took the $1000 Loyalty rebate we can claim for our 2014 Mazda6, and we elected to take the 1.9 finance deal from Mazda instead of an additional $1000 factory cash back.
We ended up at $31,200 plus tax title transfer of plates and a $367 doc fee I couldn't negotiate down any. It was less than the other place's $385 though.

I was hoping to get 8% off sticker which I was told was a strong deal on this particular car, couldn't get that anywhere, but I got very close to 7% on a bare-bones Preferred. My hope is by ordering now that we also avoided a price increase on the 2026 models which is highly likely.

I paid $35,300.88 OTD on a 2023 Mazda CX50 Turbo Premium Plus with 28,000 Miles. The service history was solid with 5k oil changes on time and no problems. The only blemish was 1 small scratch on the drivers door that I was able to hide pretty well with touchup paint and some buffing. It came with the cargo package including net, blocks and a thick carpet mat. Polymetal Gray paint. The bumper to bumper warranty has already expired but I have a bit left on the powertrain. I have now driven it over a month and no issues, rattles or other problems, especially the common things like the sunroof, differential etc. All seems good

Just received notice from the selling dealer that our new 2025 CX-50 Preferred we've been waiting for since early August (see previous post) is slated for build today, Sept 19, 2025. It's a car that's part of a dealer stock allocation that we put our name on, so it's not really an "ordered" car, but by putting down a deposit we got to choose the way it was optioned out, which was with nothing more than what the Preferred package has in it. We considered a Premium model, but the start/stop feature was a big no-go.
If I could have, I'd have went for roll-up window cranks. Shows how old school I am...less gadgets equals less headaches in my world. But the wife has to have a few perks like leather heated seats and a power liftgate, as she's the one driving it all the time, so we're going to plus it up just a tad.
VIN/info sheet says an early October delivery. We're ready here!

I took a closer look at specs and yes, you are so right. Apparently what they handed us to look over for a Premium package car right at our beginning of the journey was a turbo model since it definitely did the I-Stop thing at the first stop light she pulled up to. And that feature got an instant "Oh, I don't like that at all!" out of her. So I took that car off the list and wrongly assumed all the Premiums had it. In the end, it wouldn't have mattered anyway.
Funny that the sales guy never mentioned our test drive CX-50 had a turbo, usually that's something they seem proud to tell you about how much extra power it provides. (turbos are not something I want to mess with though). He was a pretty relaxed kind of sales guy from a local place, just chucked a key fob at me and pointed out to the car, said it's ready to go and you can keep it for the evening, and he didn't get too excited about telling us about any features.
We were not fans of the Premium's moon roof feature either, it would never get used, so rather than pay more for some things that are near useless to us on that package, we drew in the reins a little and went for a Preferred. It'll be fine...as long as the cylinder deactivation I'm not crazy about doesn't screw up something later on. Already looking for a safe way to defeat that!
