Some owners may see the following error Message in Instrument Cluster.

Network Malfunction Error.

or

Master Warning Lamp on.

or

Connected Vehicle Range Strength-Reception Icon showing 'X'

This is almost always because your TCU or Telematics Communication Unit internal malfunction, and needs the Driver (Software) to be updated Via USB Flash Drive.

If you are not having any luck with your Mazda Dealer then I may be able to assist with new update, however you should get your Dealer to rectify.

You must supply me with FULL VIN and detail.

There is no charge.

Note After Update..

After TCU update, if still having issues do the following:
1. Disconnect Negative Battery terminal and turn on Headlamps or Stop Lights to drain residual power in system, leave disconnected for about 1 hour, reconnect Battery terminal.
Your radio station pre-set must be tuned again.

Master Warning lamp should not return.

Holding the disconnected battery leads together for about a minute will also do a passive discharge.
You ONLY remove negative lead, it is stupid to suggest holding both leads together as you don't know what remaining current is in system and what you might burn out on the 10s of PCBs in current cars.

So I am stupid?
Gee thanks.
Been doing this for years on vehicles, never an issue.
Not what Mazda has ever, repeat ever recommended.

After 49 years in industry I have never seen any Technician/Mechanic taught that way nor practice discharge 12V or 24V your way.

It opens up other difficulties and reinstall errors that is just totally unnecessary in the first instance.

Then you have been lucky.
Then you have been lucky.
I guess so, done it at work maybe a hundred times over 25 years and so have my colleagues?
Guess we should buy a group lottery ticket.🤣

Lol definitely. Sounds like an exciting shop tho.

We used to overcharge capacitors and throw them at each other when I installed stereos...lol

I've had two other Mazdas in the past and now all 3 have had warning messages in the dash for some reason or another like this and all were temporary and went away on their own with no side effects other than camera disabled.
More than likely your other Mazdas NEVER had any form of Network Connection to get a Network Malfunction warning lamp like this as direct server NC (data) only came out in Mazdas from 2021.

Very much doubt this will go away without some form of Dealer intervention with a Software Update.
