After 1000km on my car, those good year eagle touring feels horrible. Not sufficient grip, horrible road noise and pretty mediocre handling. Maybe I should go my old route and toss some PS4 on there, maybe P Zero or even INDY 500 on there. Anyone else have any complaints about their tires?

Hi. They're Goodyear's!! Fully agree! I wouldn't put Goodyear's on my tractor! I may be putting Micheln's on soon. (all my tires have been Michelin's) You can get a good Michelin for around $256 ($US). Compare to the cheap "Badyear's" (changed the name because every year is a BadYear with Goodyear tires.) What's on the 50 is around $206 or less. ($US) Yes, disappointed that Mazda would put these on what I believe to be a great car!!

The tire purchase and delivery was flawless, the recommended installer did a good job, but after only 9000 miles I entered the vehicle for an oil change and the technician recommended my tires needed replacement the measurement of the tread depth indicated 2/32 of an inch meaning replace as soon as possible I could not believe that the tire was completely worn less than 10,000 miles.

I ended up ordering a set of P Zero. About $300 USD each. Cheap tire but I know what I’m getting. I’m getting my money worth. Don’t understand why Mazda put cheap garbage good years on my car. Absolutely trash. Almost as bad as cheap Chinese trailer tires. The last 1000 miles has been horrible with those horrible good years. I wouldn’t even put good years on my worst enemy’s car.

I find them very noisy and a bit mushy, but was hoping I was still in the break-in period. Seems not from what you guys have posted. Indeed very strange for Mazda to use crappy tires on their vehicles, much less a brand new and important model. Perhaps it came down to availability, but who knows?

I will be interested to see how it handles with better tires. I was pushing mine hard yesterday and it becomes a mess pretty quickly with bad understeer with the stock tires. However, the rear end does try to pull around when you lift throttle which is interesting for a torsion beam suspension.

The new tires are much better. Cornering and grip is very much improved. The ride is a bit firmer which is fine because its still so plush compared to my s3.

Food to know. The stock tires lose grip so fast. The tire just rolls over. I’m wondering how much handling will be impacted for the Meridian edition with the A/T tires? I imagine quite a bit.

What 20" would you all suggest to me for a quieter ride and better wet road performance?

Often times, tires are pretty subjective but I base my purchasing decision usually on TireRacks tire comparison ratings for dry/wet/snow/comfort and UTQG. I currently have the Michelin CrossClimate 2's for my 2016 CX-5 and I've noticed a big difference in the vehicle's handling/decreased braking distance and overall grip compared to the GoodYear Assurance that I've had prior to that and the OEM Yokohama's. I would probably recommend getting the CrossClimate 2's for the vehicle but one thing to caution is that they are directional tires so I would verify that it is mounted properly. The Mazda dealership that I went to mounted a few of mine in the wrong orientation and I didn't notice it until after a few months.
