Steering wheel volume control

Not really a complaint or a problem, but when listening to tunes, I can control the volume from either the console knob or the steering wheel. Short presses on the steering wheel vol+ or vol- control are fine, but if I press and hold vol+ or vol- I get a chime or beep sound. Anyone know the reason?

My guess is you’re inadvertently pressing in as your holding up, which would be trying to mute and turn the radio up at the same time. That’ll earn you a “dit”. In this car, it gives you the “dit” at the limits of a switch, too. For instance I was playing with instrument panel brightness in the car wash the other day. If you hit - when it was already dim, you’d get the “dit”.

Thank you! Still learning the ropes with this vehicle.
At first I was using the steering wheel control for volume and its not always easy to touch it correctly without muting it. Fast forward to today I am always using the small knob between the seats.
In my week of owning it, I've primarily been using the knob between the seats instinctively. I think it's because of the faster control to make adjustments.

Agreed @baybreakerfl and @Steven044, I find using the command knob much easier and faster than the steering wheel controls.

It's not in the manual, but holding the volume up or down on the steering wheel until it dings and then letting it go simply jumps the volume level 3 positions in the direction you were holding. Call it a lazy way to lower or raise the volume 3 levels in one button click from the steering wheel versus three individual clicks. Or use the knob as almost all of us do.
