There are numerous reasons the system may not be working properly, refer to page 4-104, Traffic Sign Recognition System of the Owner's Manual. Additionally, you may have inadvertently set the TSR to "invisible" mode, refer to page 2-117 of the Mazda Connect Owner's Manual.

It is because Mazda only offers the Traffic Sign Recognition System on the TPP. Why they wouldn't offer it on all trims with the ADD is beyond me considering that only the PP, TP and TPP offer it. As-is the fact that the 2023 CX-50 offers standard wireless ACP/AA while the CX-5, their best seller, is still wired.

Instrumentation - PP vs TPP

You would think so @bobkratzrealtor. I saw where Mazda recommends an OEM NAV SD card, could it be that the trick to unlock it lies in the SD card for the TPP? If not, maybe someone out there will figure out a hack to unlock it similar to the AIO hacks on the older infotainment versions.

The TPP still needs a nav card, it's just included in the price and dealer installed.
That’s correct, it is not a “preloaded feature” but comes with the model as a standard item.
As you mentioned it is installed once sold. I suppose that is a policy so they don’t disappear before being sold.

Even if purchased from the dealer you can get the speed limit signs but only the Turbo gets the sign recognition (stop signs etc.) seems to me that any Mazda the has the heads up display should utilize the front facing camera.

One thing to keep in mind is that the signs from the navigation is different from the Traffic Sign recognition system.

The signs from the navigation is just something that gets pulled from the Mazda Navigation database whole the Traffic Sign Recognition System is an actual sensor/camera that detects and recognizes traffic signs. The TSRS is a lot more accurate for that reason.

I actually didn’t know that most trim levels has the hardware to be able to to TSRS. I hate when companies do stuff like that just get you to by the more expensive option. I have the CX50 PP and find that feature to be so valuable having used it on my father’s 2019 CX9 Signature.

I have the PP and active display but no TSRS even though it has and uses the camera for other things.

So your saying they have the hardware?
But may not be activated?
That’s odd.

So is this the line in the sand where the models don’t have it, then above they do?
Why we have different model designations in North America baffles me.
I get confused from one country’s equipment lists to another.
At least the Meridian is in both USA and Canada.
