Premature Brake wear

Was just at my dealer for oil change at 21K miles and tech reported front pads are down to 4mm and rear at 5mm. I am beyond shocked. We are not hard on brakes (my Chevy Sonic went 60K mostly city miles before ending front pads, and my S Class Mercedes get 40K-50K plus on pads and we now live in the country)
Service advisor reports he has had to replace several front brakes at this mileage or even less.
Has anyone here seen a similar issue?
Yes! 21,000 miles. 2mm wear with uneven in rear. Replaced rear caliper, 4 pads, 2 rotors. Mazda covered the rear but not the front. We are OOP $615. Has anyone not been covered under warranty with this issue?

Between my family, wife and I l, we had 9 CX-5s and we have never replaced brake pads under45,000 miles. Today at our Mazda dealer in Manchester, NH our CX-50 with only 28,000 miles front pads only have 2mm left!?!?! From all the complaints we read online, I will be emailing a Mazda VP ASAP at US headquarters to pay for new pads and drums, pass this on, thanks Lou & Lisa B
21,000 on our CX-50. Had to replace 4 pads, broken rear caliper, rotors. Mazda paid or rear on warranty. But we got stuck with the front OOP $615. How did you make out? Who did you email?

I had the same type of issue, same mileage, year. We had a broken brake caliper. Hoping history doesn't repeat itself at next service. Hearing some type of transmission linkage noises now at 23,000. If this keeps up, we are going to get rid of her sooner than later.
