I was coming from a 2008 BMW 3 series and with my new daughter I needed something a little bigger. I didn't want to lose the driving dynamics though. Overall I was looking at mainly used german SUVs, also looked at a Grand Cherokee, Volvo and the like. Honestly I wanted to get away from a German brand after several years with my BMW, no major issues but just quirky stuff that I was getting tired of and the cost of maintenance. Started to notice some reviews on the CX-50 and went out for a test drive and was sold on it. I enjoyed the driving dynamics, the space, the looks, the japanese reliability (even though there are some common issues floating around).
