Hi guys,

I have owned a TPP since April 2022 when it first hit the dealerships. I previously owned an Acura RDX that was a joy to drive but switched after I test drove the CX-50 since it had many features that I wanted for about the same price.

I recently hit 12,000 miles with a 60/40 highway/city mix and average about 22.5 mpg (calculated with Fuelly). This car has been mostly trouble free so far aside from occasional rattles from the sunroof and sound dampening materials working themselves out of pillar trims. Build quality is solid considering it’s one of the first CX-50 built.

Current accessories installed:
All weather mats/cargo tray
Cargo net
Cargo cover
rear seat cargo protector
Mud guards
All around ceramic tint
Uniden R7 hardwired into mirror housing
Viofo A129 Pro Duo dashcam

Happy to exchange knowledge with everyone on here.

Welcome to the forum @kulz and congrats on getting your CX-50! What sold you on the CX-50 compared to the RDX or other SUVs?
How did you wire in your dashcam? I just got the Viofo 119 mini and their power adapter. I hope to wire the 12V/Ground/ACC into the connectors inside the mirror housing.

I wanted ventilated seat in my RDX so I was looking into trading up to the higher trim for that. I recently moved and found out very quickly my new Acura dealership is very shady and wanted to add $10k mark up for another RDX. I looked into other brands and the CX-50 won in term of values and dealership customer service. I was able to get it for MSRP on launch day.

Other vehicles in consideration were Lexus NX350h and Acura Integra, but they were unavailable at the time and I did not want to lose out on good interest rates.

I ended up just routing the cable down the cigarette lighter plug as the CX-50 does not have switched fuse in the cabin. You can get a dongar plug that lets you tap into the mirror housing instead. Since I already used the mirror plug for my radar detector, I did not want to add another tap as it might overload the fuse or affect vehicle safety function.
