great looking truck/suv? Can’t say anything about it yet but hoping to enjoy it. Coming out of a Subaru Outback that we would have got another but the new one is the same so what’s the purpose?

Congrats! What trim level is your 50? We picked up our Soul Red TPP 3 weeks ago and love it!

Trim is tp. They couldn’t find a tpp in any color we wanted. This was the only tp they could find in this color. As to options the 7 yr old outback came with more than this. Which is surprising. Mostly that only the tpp comes with a back up alarm. I’ve got that in a 2010 Milan. So did they cheap out on this?

The dealership didn’t have the Soul Red so we ended up ordering it from the factory. Took about a month to get built and delivered. I think Mazda is trying to push people towards the most expensive trim. I’m surprised that the lower trims did get the back up alarm either. My 2015 Corvette didn’t have them but Chevy didn’t want to mare the rear bumper look out of place on the car with those round sensors.

Congrats and welcome!

In regards to the back up sensors, I don't think it is Mazda being cheap. In my experience, Mazda has some weird configurations when it comes to options. One example being that the CX-50 comes standard with wireless ACP/AA while the 2023 CX-5 (their best seller by far) standard is wired. At least they have finally installed LEDs throughout as well. Our 2020 CX-5 Sport trim had LED low beams while every other bulb in the car was incandescent.
Yeah, maybe it's because I've typically only driven older vehicles until buying the CX-50, but I don't get the impression that Mazda has been cheap with the car. I think they've simply taken a close look at what is truly necessary in a vehicle for the average driver. If the car has a back-up camera, do you really need sensors to tell you where the wall is? Come on now. Even on the lower trims, the system beeps at you if any movement is detected as you're reversing, and that's plenty of assistance imo. Just because you have a camera and sensors doesn't mean you shouldn't still use your mirrors, ya know?

:D Ok it’s a nice camera. Yes we should use the mirrors! But then why the camera? Ok I still own camera less cars. Yes I use my mirrors! Nice mirrors on this Mazda they point downward when backing up so you can see the curb. Problem is if using the camera it’s a little off so you must use the mirrors. With other cars we’ve owned the alarm would beep if you were to close. Now being so many cars are and have been equipped with this beeping sound people get accustomed to it. They expect it and end up slamming the breaks when they look through the mirror and realize the camera is off :). A learning curve. Cheap well from this forum I’ve learned I can buy the whole system for $30.

What do you mean by "off"? My camera lines are pretty accurate, except the red lines are a bit conservative (indicate the car is close than it actually is) but better safe than sorry, I guess.

If your camera is not like this, I suggest you take it back to the dealer.

I have had my Cx-50 since Oct '22 and love this car! My color is the Polymetal Gray in the tpp trim with the terracotta interior! Good luck with yours and love the color!

Well been 2 weeks now and all’s good. Enjoying this vehicle. Still not liking the camera but the speed on the windshield makes up for it and those 2 half circles showing passing car is nice! But the picture of the car at the bottom of the speedometer when theres a passing car or changing lanes without blinkers is a bit distracting. Holds the road great and nice pickup! In the process of getting roof racks now. Thule isn’t sure if they’ve got the foot kit so I’m waiting!

Yes had the racks and just needed the fit kit. But that was more than that whole set. Damn!! They look like the older Thule aero bars! Nice! Glad they’re working for you!
Sold out in both colors and sizes.🥺
There was one 53" left in silver when I just looked
So got the racks on today and like the look!

Got to ask though. Is the remote kind of large? Think my first phone was this big 😁.

My other remotes are much smaller. And this one doesn’t have remote start on it. Why?
