I purchased a mazda cx 50 a month ago. I noticed a water spots all over the trunk after a rain storm. I will take the car to the dealership this week and hope they can fix this major issue. I'm very upset and i don't think i will ever buy a mazda again!!!!

It is inside the car, behind the second row( trunk) i will post pictures. Whoever is buying a mazda cx50 this is unacceptable for a brand new car.
Where are the spots exactly? If it is on the metal, that is not abnormal. If it is inside the car, then that is a leak.

wow - its a joke!!!!! I agree - same here! That was my first AND LAST Mazda...... I hope you will find solution soon. Make sure dealer does not report the fix on your VIN - that will destroy its resale value that is already low :(

Today i washed my cx50 and when i opened the hatch the water kinda splashed over those same areas as in the picture, the wind kinda blew it in..but it wasn't a leak and knowing about this topic here i thought I'd chime in. So maybe that's the issue? If not it has to be the upper rubber seal not seated correctly.

My new cx50 is leaking in the exact same spots on both sides- it’s coming in from behind the upper cargo pillar speaker areas. Did have the issue resolved at the dealership yet? I have to schedule an appt for mine

Having the exact same issue I ended up getting messaged by someone saying to check the tailgate hardware it might be miss aligned or stripped from the factory I gutted my cx 50 of the whole interior to diag it myself

Holy crap. That’s dedication! Love it. Any findings?
That’s ridiculous! It was obviously under warranty and would be fixed by Mazda. I’m calling BS now on a lot of these posts, who would do that!?!?

I have 6000kms since June and this car has been a beast. Going to upgrade for the hybrid next year as Mazda is right now one of the best brands for money you can get.

I decided to diagnose it myself - and I think I found the culprit- ( I will include photos - and how u corrected the factory defect) I found kink in the upper read drain hose on drivers side above airbag. I cut the kinked hose and attached a new hose and a right angle attachment so it won’t bend again and form another kink.
