Lifting Windshield wipers when snowing

Living in the NorthEast my whole life it is almost second nature to lift the wipers up before a major snow/ice storm.

But I noted you cannot lift the wipers on the cx50 like my old Highlander. So will I be stuck chipping away the ice from the blade stuck to the windshield after every winter storm?

I prefer to pour warm water on the blades (I don't get much ice, though), Then chip away the rest, I also hit the entire windshield with warm water before chipping.
RTFM :D. You have to put them in accessory mode when you park your car - it's a pain, I know. For more, see: Windshield Wiper Arm Design & Misc Issues | Mazda CX-50 Forum (cx50forums.com)
Read the manual.. Many cars now have the same issue.. The owners manual tells you how to make the wipers go to the position that allows you to lift them..

Push the wiper arm 2 times up (mist) after you stop the car

Same as the CX 30, easy peasy.
