Liftgate not opening

Just received my car back from the dealer after 1 month I believe they may have found the problem; as mentioned before they previously replaced the battery and lift gate control module, this time they replaced:

VA41-62-6EX - Slider, Power Lift Gate

It's been a few days and so far so good, finally!
Have you had any more problems since this fix?

My wife and I got our ‘23 CX-50 just over a year ago and we’ve had 5 instances where the tailgate wouldn’t open. I know people are saying to turn the ignition off/on, but that’s such a hassle when we’re in a parking lot and all we want to do at times is put our groceries away.

I mentioned this issue to the Mazda dealer during my last service and they said they never heard of this problem. I find that very hard to believe!
I’ve had the same thing happen, all different circumstances (car sat for a day, car sat for a half hour, etc.)The low battery light does come on so I’m thinking it’s a battery issue but the dealer won’t replace the battery because it’s okay when i bring it in. It’s annoying to have to start the car to open the lift gate and I think this is happening to a lot of CX-50 owners. I will post if I find a solution.

I also have this issue and I have taken my SUV to my Mazda dealer a few times. They are now aware of the issue I have been told there will be a software fix for this issue within 2 to 3 months so keep an eye open for a recall.
Thanks! I’d given up with my dealer who said they needed to “see it,“ in other words, they have no idea what to do. Glad you posted; I was about ready to replace the car for something that functions. Please post again if you get this resolved.
