Driving back from cross country skiing today I noticed there was a small pool of dirty water on the inside ledge. Is this normal? It seems like this is a collection spot for water and dirt that doesn't properly drain; thus may create rust. Has anyone else noticed this? It was quite alarming!

Do you mean the plastic trim along the bottom of the door? There are little (square) drainage holes, but some water will stay. However, it's plastic, no rust & no worries.

It’s a design feature to keep the door sill clean so you don’t drag the bottom of your pants over the filth.
Great feature, embrace it, then wipe it clean.🤣
