I have the Meridian Edition and I'm surprised the Bose system wasn't included as a standard option. I want to know if anyone has upgraded the base system or if there are any ideas to upgrading it w/o having to tear apart the vehicle.

Following…. I’d like to upgrade the system as well. I’m mainly disappointed in the lack to lows with the system. There are some posts on FB group Cx-50 owners North America. Couple people have put subs in the back. But I ideally need to have someone install for me.

I've done some research and was thinking of getting the Cerwin Vega 10" powered active sub/amp in one. It's small and compact and would provide just what I'm looking for. Has anyone installed one of these on a Mazda CX before? How easy is it?

While I didn't do mine personally, I took it to a place that was able to find documentation on the CX-50. He said it was fairly easy. Took about 3 hours to run everything. The subs sound AMAZING in this car.

BTW, I have the bose. Spotify doesn't sound good on the bose alone.

I would wager it is not difficult at all. I think one fault is we do not have a factory amp without the bose (at least to my knowledge) So aftermarket speakers may not sound any better. We would need to install an Amp
