Hello everyone!

My name is Ricky and I’m excited to be an owner of a new CX-50. I’m a life long car enthusiast that has grown up and needed a do-it-all vehicle. The driving experience and the utility is what drew me to the CX-50. So far I’m loving it.

I’m looking forward to seeing what this community has to offer. Here’s a obligatory picture of my new toy. Enjoy.

Hello and welcome!!! You purchased the perfect color too. How are you liking it? What did you come from?

Hey @Schrica, what has mileage been like for you so far?
Well as it is brand new the current mpg is not an accurate reflection of what it will be.
I have found it takes anywhere from 1000-1500kms to get a consistent fuel consumption reading.
It definitely shows an improvement after this ‘break in’ period.
Saying from experience with 3 2.5 Mazdas in the last year.

I’m a car enthusiast that loves to know whats new. I’ve been watching new vehicles for a while. There are new sedans on the market that I would love to own, but living in a cold wether climate and enjoying out door activities like camping, mountain biking, and hiking, I needed something bigger then a sedan. Looking at the mid-size SUV market, there’s only a few I’d consider and my wife already drives a RAV4. With the driving dynamics being a priority to Mazda and the sharp looks of the CX-50. It was a no brainer in my book.

How about you?

Hey! I do dig the color. It was a hard choice, but blue is my favorite color. I’ve had a bunch of random cars over the years, but i’ve never gotten over selling my 2004 Lancer Evolution that I sold in 2012 to go back to school. It was a driver’s car to the core and i’ll always remember it fondly. I consider the CX-50 as my grown up EVO.

Hope it brings you lots of love, as my new CX-50 Premium plus Turbo has been in dealer for warranty issues for a total of 14 weeks now. I've not had my CX-50 since January 1st. The electrical system completely shut down, and they have been working with Mazda of America 🇺🇸 to find a fix, as today its still in the service department. Mach 1st will be 8 weeks since it was towed in by roadside assistance. 14 weeks in total since I've purchased it last April. Replaced the steering wheel, had to fix wireless charging pad, the fuel door fell off and broke, had to have the complete fuel door assembly replaced, which was done incorrectly and ended up flooding the rear-end, which then shorted out the electrical system which lead to serious malfunction in the operating system, the cross bars continue to cause ex loud wind noise, that disrupts my sound system, the tires continue to leak air, no ideal why , it's just one thing after another with this 2023 Mazda CX-50 Premium plus Turbo edition. I'm so disappointed, once repaired or replaced I will be trading it in on a Lexus 350 fully loaded SUV.

Can’t you go the Lemon Law route?

Sounds like my 2021 F150 Powerboost I traded to get my Turbo CX5. I was so close to pulling the trigger on the CX50, and so glad I listened to my gut. It’s sharp as hell, and would still love to get one at some point. But not until they finish debugging all of the issues. So far my CX5 has been flawless. Not one issue since I bough it in December.

Well unfortunately early editions of many models first year runs have teething problems.
Mine being a Dec 22 build, I hope the gremlins have been resolved.
The CX 5 is a solid build, my son can attest to that, not one issue in 60,000kms over 2.5 yrs.
