Hi guys. So last Friday I finally took delivery of my new cx50 in the preferred plus package. At the time I didn't think much of it since it's summer time but yesterday I was testing out all the features and turns out the heated seats function does not work! Is this due to chip Anyone else have this issue? Wait time with mazda customer service is over an hour :( if it is due to a chip shortage they should have at least mentioned it and provided a credit or are they planning to resolve this via a recall? Just looking for some input from anyone in the same boat.

Does the light even light up or do the seats not actually heat up?

So when I turn on the car the first time I press the button it lights up for a split second. After that if I press button again it does not light up unless I turn car off and then on. And again it will light up for split second only.
That happens on my previous CX-30 & was fixed under warranty. There's a TSB out for Mazda 3 if I can find it again I will post & describes the cause of the issue & the fixed that is done.

here is the link to the article for the TSB & remember this shares the same platform as the 3 & CX-30

Just an update. I took the car in to get checked and they said it was a control module issue. Part has been ordered but may take weeks to months to get here. I don't mind since it's summer as long as it gets fixed eventually. I asked about other complaints but the mazda mecahnic basically gave me the old cliche "it's a brand new line and with all 1st gen cars there will be issues" now its a waiting game lol. Have about 700 miles on it already and so far no other issues.

Aww best of luck!! & It's technically not a "1st Gen" since it's based off of the 3 & CX-30... But I get the jist & hate when dealers say that stuff 🤦‍♂️

I bought my CX-30 in 2020 with the basically the same quote applying to me, but just gone past the two year mark of ownership and it's been flawless. I have the heated seats as well as the heated steering wheel.

Just letting you guys know there is a fix for a issue with BOTH FRONT Seat Warmers NOT working AND OR CAN NOT be TURNED OFF?..

TSB NUMBER: 09-002/23 issues Jan 3, 2023.

There is a Front Seat Warmer Control Unit (Black Box under Passenger Seat underside) to be replaced if defective.
Mazda Part Number VA43-67-5J0A

Note this is specific part for CX-50 and is NOT the same part (number) for any other Mazda Models (CX-30 etc) from my initial search.
The VA model code of front of Part Number is CX-50 specific.

NOTE, this is NOT a Recall but a TSB and ONLY applies to those what are having the problem as listed in TSB.
That is again...''front seat warmers are inoperative or cannot be turned OFF ''

Thank you. Only had the car 5 months and warmers stopped working!
