Hello! Just picked up a Black Turbo Premium yesterday.
Automotive parking light Car Sky Tire Wheel

This car (I keep wanting to call it a car because it feels so nice to drive and not SUV-like at all) fits me perfectly. I’m a father of 3, two of which are still toddlers and my stepdaughter is 12. When we had our first little one, my wife convinced me to give up my Ford Focus ST and I did my best to embrace the SUV lifestyle with first a 2015 Jeep Grand Cherokee and then a 2021 Kia Sorento (wanted a Telluride but the wait was 8 months). After almost 2 years with the Kia we realized the 3-row seating wasn’t as necessary as we expected since we kept two of the seats almost always folded down, and we almost never had the full family in my vehicle since my wife has a minivan. And I just didn’t enjoy driving it. So yesterday we made the trade.
So far I’m in love with the driving dynamics, but I’ve only really been driving it in heavy slush around town so I haven’t gotten a chance to really push it yet. Highway driving was good, but a bit loud. Had a 4 hour drive home from the dealership on the interstate, thankfully the road conditions were much better than the drive out.
This is my second time buying a brand new, first-ever model of car, as I also owned a 2013 Scion FR-S. This is my first Mazda however. Hopefully this car has some staying power in the market and I look forward to see what kind of aftermarket community builds around it.

Welcome! I’ve owned my premium turbo for 7 mos and in my many years driving I have never had the desire to buy new until I saw the traveling demo. After researching how far mazda has come on reliability and driving dynamics from the internet and related CX5 owners I took the plunge… Seven months and still no issues other than the mazda connect app occasional glitch. Still gun!

Yes it most definitely is fun to drive. I purchased the preferred plus. Was hoping for a turbo but dealership mark up was $2000. Price was just too high to make it worthwhile. Maybe I'll trade up to a turbo next generation. Even without the turbo it remains moderately fun. Having test driven roughly half dozen other competitors, I can say no other SUV really compares.

Welcome! I had a 2015 Focus ST and what a cheap, fun car. I wish I never got rid of it. For $1500, I put on a catless downpipe, upgraded front intercooler, upgraded rear motor mount, intake and a custom tube making 276whp and nearly 370 wheel torque. The CX50 won’t give you all the fun your ST did, but for the next stage in your life, it will moderately scratch your itch every now and then.
