Started 3 times in a row and light came on. Should I tow it in with Roadside assistance. Seems to run ok but don't want to take chances.
I've got the same message on my dash now. I had a problem with a tight 3 point turn where the steering wheel jerked violently and froze up when cranking it to the right while stopped and in Drive. I couldn't move despite being in Drive, had to shift it back in Park first. Did it a second time when completing the turn though it didn't pop out of gear that time. I thought it was the iStop kicking in at the wrong time and cutting power to the steering but with the engine malfunction warning I'm not sure. Maybe it's the same problem you're having? I'm taking it in tomorrow morning, hoping it's just a software update.Dashboard message
I discovered a very loose battery cable and figure that this must be the culprit. I couldn't get any power at all to the car today so I lifted the hood and sure enough the negative cable wasn't making proper contact anymore, it was that loose.Idle stop isn't supposed to activate when the steering wheel is turned over a certain amount. I'm not sure the percent/angle though.
