Hi everyone,

I live in Canada. After driving only one day in the snow engine bay gets covered. Looks like blowing impurities in above headlights and between two plastic covers in the middle. Never had a car that had engine bay get this dirty this fast. On local FB groups other CX50 owners say they don’t have that problem. Is it a CX50 poor design or just my car.

My Honda Odyssey does the same thing if I follow other cars too close on the highway when the roads are salty/wet. I haven’t drove my 50 in those conditions yet, but I did have one day where it was a really light rain after a long dry spell and the whole car was coated with road grime including the engine bay.

hi, same problem with my cx50, the seal above the headlight doesn’t touch the top, The meridian model has a garnish around tye head light and the seal can make his job. So call mazda canada and add and other complaint.

Engine bays are not a sealed unit.
Depends on many factors, speed, conditions, following distance, etc.
Never had a vehicle that kept the engine bay clean in inclement weather.
Definitely not a design issue.
Welcome to the forum and interesting first post.
