I've been thinking about it but reviews seem to be 50/50 and not sure of the claimed 40hp is worth it.
I used the JB4 on my Type R before I went with a conventional Hondata tune. The JB4 actually was pretty good on the Type R and their dyno claims are correct. My issue was I purchased the JB4 for my Mazda and it tossed check engine lights etc...... It did not do this on my Honda and there were no issues. After working with their tech support, they say everything looks good based on pictures and I am awaiting next steps...

Curious that they include E85 tunes when Mazda North America dissuades use of E85 in their cars.
E85 can be hard on fuel systems. Although motors can make good power on E85, it’s not as efficient as 87-93 octane. I can’t think of any manufacturer that recommends e85 on a passenger vehicle. I know GM was doing it for a while with their trucks, but I don’t think that lasted too long.

My prior car audi s3 i used a JB1 with great results. Bit of hassle taking on and off tho..
I used a E20 mix from day one because it did make a difference..even in stock form. But to much E85 or a E30 and north injectors are maxed.
Ive read the JB4 can be a challenge to put on the cx50. But im sure it would be smile inducing. The Mazda manual does say nothing more than 10% ethanol. But id definitely use 91 or better if your going JB4.
Can you imagine a JB4 for the upcoming cx 70 inline 6 cylinder turbo 🤯
Thats my future 👍

Super easy. The PDF mentions something about locating the plug on the intercooler and I nearly took the front bumper off to find it and I could not find it. Plus the cables were no way long enough to reach the passenger side of the intercooler.

So I plugged it into the first three plugs identified and it threw error codes everywhere but it turns out it was just a bad board and the new board seems to be working fine

Update:

The replacement JB4 they sent me was still throwing error codes This time they had me remove the bluetooth adapter. As of now no new error codes have been thrown.....

I did confirm my connections are in the correct spot (insanely easy to install and remove)

More details to come if the bluetooth adapter was causing the issues....

Wow if everything is easier to get too i might be in ..again 😂
Always had great support from those guys with my audi. Used for four years zero issues besides the one hard to get connection.

Yeah it's really easy to access everything and now that they confirmed I am connected properly if I can iron out these check engine lights I'll be golden. I will keep you posted

Update: still no error codes after driving for 50+ miles with the Bluetooth adapter removed from the JB4 board. How in the world can a Bluetooth adapter cause check engine lights? Shorting out the board?? They are going to send me a new Bluetooth adapter at least. Let’s hope that solves the issue once and for all.

So what are the gains from the JB4?
And $$.

They state 40 WHP and 50 WTQ Gains. (This is on top of the 93 octane numbers or supposedly the 87 octane numbers)

Their claims were close to what they claimed on my Type R until I got a true Hondata Tune. (I dynoed 329 WHP and 325 WQT with the JB 4 before getting 382 and 384 on my type R with a conservative Hondata Tune)

The price is $529 for the box and 149 for the bluetooth adapter or 40 dollars for the data cable instead.

The bluetooth adapter lets you change maps and data log without connecting to a computer. I will not lie as I no longer have check engine light errors or other errors without the bluetooth cable connected I am so confused how that adapter was causing the issues.

I am getting an extra 4 PSI of boost and all metrics seem to be good.... I will be awaiting a new bluetooth adapter from them.

A little extra power would be nice, but does the JB4 change the throttle sensitivity? I don’t prefer the lazy throttle.
