Dash cam hard wire fuse slot

I know they have the dongle for hardwiring a dash cam to the powered mirror, but I have already ran my cord down the the fuse box at the driver kick panel. Has anyone else done this with success and found either an always hot or a keyed hot slot that isn’t used? It’s possible my dash cam took a crap on me while it wasn’t in use for the last few months but I can’t seem to get it to turn on.

Which fuse slot have you used with success here?

All the fuses in the cabin fusebox are always on. Not sure if there are any unused slots that have populated connectors (or not) but you can always use a fuse tap on one that is populated.

Didn’t even think about that. I usually leave wiring up to the professionals, haha. I’m definitely not the go-to guy for this crap.
What's this dongle you speak of? I need to my Garmin dashcam mini and I'm curious!
