Cx50 road noise issue

It is pretty uncivilized even with 17" tires. I traded-in my Turbo PP after just one day for a non turbo model. Lift the spare and see that there is no sound insulation on the bottom. All bare metal. I assume it is the same for wheel wells and elsewhere. I am looking for ways to add some soundproofing. Around town road noise is tolerable but on the highway it is annoying.
“Uncivilized”? What was your previous vehicle?
Or do you drive on some really coarse asphalt?

No one is comparing the cx50 with a 12 year old pos crv. But even compared to any other new crossover in its class the cx50 is very noisy especially on the hwy. Built quality nvh sound deadening in this vehicle sucks and you guys can try to defend it in any way you want. The 50 is not a sports car and should be way quieter than it is. Compare it back to back with a 2023 outback and you will notice a huge difference in sound levels. Oh but Mazdas are supposed to be abit louder because they are a drivers car lmao. That's total bullshit.
Your comments are far from productive here, but you do you.😳
Do you own a 50 or just trolling the forum?

@Administrator can we please just ban this guy? He makes no positive contribution to the forum and just pans everything. It's getting really annoying.
Just ignore if it bothers you.
There is freedom of speech and his opinion is just that whether we agree with it or not.
Perhaps he just wants to vent here as many do.

And btw my cx50 had 17s on it and 20s. 17s made no difference in sound levels or overall comfort so the comment about mazdas being louder because they have lower profile tires on it is laughable. It's the way the cx50 was built and lack of sound insulation combined with the rear suspension and poor build quality that makes the cx50 ride and sound like sh it. The 5 was better yes and a better built car but just to small. Drive a 23 outback wilderness back to back with the 50. A car the 50 is solely targeting and then maybe you'll get it.
You know if it weren’t for that excessive cladding I could see the Subaru as a choice for myself.
I don’t really think the 50 “so solely targeting “ it though, it seems as so many of this style of SUVs
advertise them as off-roaders, which for me is not what I see them as.
Sure some mild off asphalt gravel and dirt is fine, but nothing Wrangleresque style.
The 50 has some deficiencies sure, but many new vehicles do, there really is a lot of competition out there and I was sold on the unlimited kilometre warranty here in Canada.

Heh! Ignore it you say? ...

What’s your point in quoting me?
I will call someone out on something I disagree with, but I didn’t say “ban” them from voicing opinions.
I enjoy a good ‘back and forth’ on tough and or controversial topics. No harm in it until there is unwanted BS or attempts at censoring opinions.
