I'd be interested to see the results. I thought the way they have it show remaining full in 10mile increments until like 30 or so miles left was a little odd.
So after about a week I contacted my SA for an update after not hearing from them. Anyway he said after consultation with Mazda the plan was to replace fuel tank pump, float and sensor (I believe one component). They had ordered the part(s) and a special tool required to do it. As of today they have had my CX50 for two weeks which doesn’t bother me since they provided a comparable loaner.I'd be interested to see the results. I would say 2 weeks at the dealership is more than ample time.😳Update #2 . Vehicle is still at dealership and I haven’t received an update since the last time I contacted them about two weeks ago. I will call them tomorrow since I have given the sufficient time to update me on the repair status.
That’s my plan we have put over 1300 miles on it already.2 months before than can ship the tool?
Something sounds fishy there.
Pound the miles on the loaner while you can, because I would guess they will want it back sooner than later when the tool arrives.
These types of problems can and do happen to all manufacturers.Update #4. Service advisor called to give me an update. They reached out to Mazda USA and obtained an ETA on the special tool they need. It won’t ship until end of June, yes that’s right. Once again I don’t blame the dealer they have taken care of me provided a loaner vehicle. They also said I could pick my car up if I wanted to, but why would I do that? I hold Mazda USA responsible for this, because it has to be a better way to address this issue. I was thinking of getting CX90 before this happened now I think I will pass.
Why? They have to build an entirely new tool to do the repair. This is how TSB's and Recall repairs often work. It takes time, nothing fishy about that.2 months before than can ship the tool?

So it went from being overnighted to being 2 months away? Why? They have to build an entirely new tool to do the repair. This is how TSB's and Recall repairs often work. It takes time, nothing fishy about that.
Yep, that’s thier story and they’re sticking to it. I have no reason to doubt them as of right now, plus they gave a CX50 PP to drive until it fixed. So it went from being overnighted to being 2 months away?
Who’s building this intricate tool a grade 6 shop class?
Vehicle is down, how freaking elaborate can this tool be?
Gimme the specs I whip one up in my 3D printer and have it to you on Monday.🤣
