My 50 makes a buzzing noise when I shut it off. I haven’t timed it but seems to last for about 20-30 seconds. Is that normal? If so, what is it doing? Thanks.

I believe it would be related to the high pressure fuel pump all Skyactiv engines have.

I just got out of a 2017 Mazda 6 which had a skyactive engine as well (non-turbo) and it didn’t exhibit this buzz.

Yeah my cx50 does the same and it’s not turbo charged. Not sure what it is. I also noticed at times the fan goes off after I shut the car off.

Isn’t it from the fan for the LED headlights?

All high-quality headlight LEDs that I have seen, which I admit, is not many, have had fans does that sound like a high pitch buzz.

I was able to listen more closely today. It’s not coming from the headlight area in either side. It’s coming from the engine area. It’s on the right side of the engine and hard to get in there but seems to be under the plastic engine cover. When it stops it clicks several times then a much softer noise runs for a couple of seconds and then there’s a single switch-type noise and all noises stop.

That sounds like the high pressure fuel pump underhood.

I don't know exactly what the source is, but both my previous 2019 CX-5 Turbo Sig and now my PPT 50 make that same electronic whining sound after shutting off. Completely normal and lot of posts about this on multiple Mazda vehicles.

My old audi s3 sounded like a desktop printer after turning off the engine. It was coolant being circulated around the turbo. So that would be my guess because i hear this too.
