I was able to listen more closely today. It’s not coming from the headlight area in either side. It’s coming from the engine area. It’s on the right side of the engine and hard to get in there but seems to be under the plastic engine cover. When it stops it clicks several times then a much softer noise runs for a couple of seconds and then there’s a single switch-type noise and all noises stop.

That sounds like the high pressure fuel pump underhood.

I don't know exactly what the source is, but both my previous 2019 CX-5 Turbo Sig and now my PPT 50 make that same electronic whining sound after shutting off. Completely normal and lot of posts about this on multiple Mazda vehicles.
