Does anyone know if a preferred plus can have one of the auto dimming mirrors with homelink installed easily or is this a difficult job?

I installed it myself on my preferred plus. I would say someone moderately mechanically inclined can do it.

it requires removing the cover where the rear view mirror is,front sensor cover, and sun glass overhead console. You need to tap into 3 wires. Taps are provided.

the instructions are here:

I am sure you will love it. I love mine, regret not doing it sooner.
I have to say, I would not want to own a car without auto-dimming mirrors now after having owned them for the better part of a decade. It actually bothers me that we only get one side mirror that auto-dims. I hope they come out with an accessory for the passenger side.
