App Issue, in-lock door, tailgate opens

Common pet peeve for many owners.
Not the unlock doors and tailgate opens issue but the app itself.
Personally I would just rather have the remote start on the fob, but this is the way it’s going now with many manufacturers. Volvo, GM, Ford to name a few that I know of.
Why?
Well once your free app time is done with (if you got it included at time of purchase for 2 or 3 years),
you now have to pay 😳 to use the app if you want to remote start ‘your’ vehicle with its built in remote start feature.
Don’t like that one bit, although there supposedly is a hack out there where you use a separate remote to access the feature without using the app.
I will look more into that once my ‘free’🤔 allotted time period is up.

Yea the subscription service BS on everything is super annoying. I’m thinking of just having an aftermarket starter installed. I can’t take a chance of the tail gate opening and someone stealing my tools. Is there a place to report app errors?

I've never had that issue with using the app to unlock the door and instead the liftgate opens. Different strokes for different folks--I'm very happy with the app especially now after the last telematics update which has significantly improved response time and limited request failures. And a couple of times now I've lived dangerously by deactivating the fob and leaving it in the car, using only the app to lock and then unlock when I return. But I did hedge my bets by sliding the emergency key into my wallet in case the app was down when I needed it.
