I’m thinking of going with 15mm adapter/spacer up front and 25mm in the back (the rear wheels are about 10mm more set into the wheel well than the fronts). I haven’t removed a wheel yet to see what the backside of the wheel looks like and whether there are pockets behind the spokes for the existing studs for the studs and nuts holding on the adapter to sit within. The 15mm adapter will need a wheel pocket to work. The 25mm adapter may not since those nuts may not protrude past the face of the adapter.

I’m curious as to whether anyone has played with this and what sizes and styles you’re using.

Took a picture for you of a wheel today (20") while getting the tires changed. They have 'pockets' but they are fairly shallow:
