Picked up our CX 50 a couple of weeks ago, Meridian +Apex.

Over 20 years I've had three different Mazda 3's, a Mazda 5, and a Mazda CX5. I was attracted to the styling of the early 3's and picked up my first Mazda 3 in 2004. They have all been fun to drive and reliable. Still have the CX5 as a second driver.

We do a lot of camping with a small travel trailer. Looking forward to getting the hitch and 7 pin harness installed (once they become available, lol)

Congratulations on picking up your CX-50 @Brammer, welcome to the forum! Which color combo did you get? How do you like the CX-50 compared to your CX-5?

Thanks!

We got the polymetal grey with the terracotta interior. Haven't really put enough km on yet to definitively compare with the CX5. Right now it's a matter of learning all the systems in the CX50 and getting comfortable with them. The CX5 is kinda like that one comfortable spot on the couch where you have sat for years.

Initial impressions - the increased hp is definitely noticeable and the paddle shifts are useful. As noted by other owners, the shift boot encroaches on the control button. Not impressed so far with the 12 speaker Bose system compared to the CX5 GT, but have not really wrung it out with some good tunes. More to come on that front.

It came with the Apex package, which includes a massive roof rack platform. That came off pretty easy but be warned, it is much heavier than it looks.. I was pleased to find out that the rack includes crossbars, and they can be separated from the rack with just four bolts. Just about every roof accessory requires the cross-bars, so I could add a kayak carrier easy enough.

Looking forward to reading more on the forum!

Cheers

Truckpartsuperstore.com has the hitches made by Curt for $300 delivered. 4 bolts, very easy install.
Check etrailer.com for the wiring harnesses.
