Added the nav and speed limit display to my PFP. Love that it shows speed limit on the dash. Just needed to get a nav sd card(<$40 on Amazon). Over speed limit Warning shows on infotainment and also has audible warning. View attachment 313
😍😍 lovely way better then paying $500 plus at the dealership. I did this with my CX 30 & years later no issues. Same with my previous CX-3 Even though the system was different. Wish I knew why they charge so much for the SD card when an exact working copy is like $450 cheaper. && Yess the ones online get the updates as well through Mazda.

The visual alert is fine, but turned off the audible speed alert in my previous CX-5 as I found it annoying--and then did so automatically when I first got my CX-50. But I'm now wondering if the offset feature will help reduce the overly aggressive alerts when driving on highways where "everyone" routinely is 5-10mph over the posted speed limit...that might be a good check when I'm too far over....

There is an option for alert at speed limit, +3, +5

If you disable the alert in the dash and only use the alert in the NAV, then it will just give you one audible warning that you’re over the speed limit, but there is no option to increase it like in the dash.

This is in the pfp, not sure if ppt is different

so this would work for any CX50 trim that has a SD card slot inside center console? Curious, which non-Nav trims would this work on?

It worked on my preferred plus

there are limitations. The preferred plus doesn’t have sirius,so those features are grayed out. Also I believe mine doesn’t have the traffic camera so it only shows speed limit based on nav. It doesn’t show any signs like stop signs.

while with limitations that is so cool that you can get a nav function with just a $40 SD card rather than paying $500 for this card at a dealership on a higher trim with Nav option. I see that you can even receive map updates with this much cheaper option. Good to know and thanks for sharing the info.

I’m an idiot when it comes to techy things. I have turbo premium and would like to get one of these on Amazon. Do they come with instructions or is it something you just put in the slot and it does it’s thing?
Yep you just put it in the slot and drive there's been reports of some people needing to drive like 40 miles for it to fully register as it burns Vin information digitally into the SD card so it can't be shared. However on my previous two Mazdas I didn't have to do that it was instant.

Thanks! Appreciate the response! and so my next question is when I look these up on amazon there is a TD2K66EZ1A. Why isn’t everyone using that one? Isn’t that the most updated?

That’s the one I am using. You can use it as is, the one I got had 2019 maps. You can also update it on mazda website to the latest maps.

i believe the "A" at the end has more current maps than the one without the "A" at the end. both will work. I updated my non "A" at end via the mazda nav update tool.
