Hi everyone! New to these forums, and not sure if I’m in the right place or if this has been asked before… We have a CX-50 Meridian Edition (we’re in Canada) and unfortunately got sideswiped by a city bus 2 days ago. We brought it into the dealership’s body shop to have an estimate done for our insurance and they basically said they don’t know when parts will be available for the car. They said anywhere from 1-6 months, and they weren’t even sure about that. Now our brand new car, that’s not even a month old yet, is sitting in our garage. It’s technically drivable, but we’ve been advised against driving it. Airbags didn’t deploy, but the entire headlight housing on our driver’s side is smashed into. Bus also ripped off our front bumper, damaged the side mirror, quarter panels etc… quite a lot of damage. Has anyone unfortunately also been in an accident in their CX-50 and had to wait for parts? If so, how long was the wait? It sucks making payments on a car we literally got less than a month ago, that will just sit in our garage for however long. We waited about 6 months for our CX-50 and this is a huge bummer. Hope parts come in soon. View attachment 629
Just got into an accident with our 2 month old Mazda cx 50 a week ago. A car hydroplaned, lost control and hit us head on on the freeway. We’re still waiting on ICBC to do an estimate on it and then see what the body shop tells us about the estimated wait for parts.

I’m really sorry to hear that. Hope you’re all okay! We just got the call from the body shop today saying they have most of the parts in already, which is surprisingly quick. Hope it’s quick for you too!

We’re okay, thanks. As sad as we are that the car is wrecked, we’re greatful that we were in a highly safe rated car. That’s good news about the parts being available so quickly. Thanks for letting me know. We were supposed to drive it down to California at the end of the month, but I don’t think that’s happening.
