Hey guys, I know I’m getting way ahead of myself here but a semi-common topic on here appears to be the crappy tires that come stock. I was looking into what alternative tires you could put on the factory 20in rims, options are limited but you can get a BFG Trail-Terrain T/A or Falken Wildpeak A/T Trail in 245/50R20. That’d be the same width as factory and about .9in larger diameter, I’m waiting on getting mine at the moment I can’t really check for myself but do you think there’d be clearance or other issues with stepping up tire diameter a bit? Might have the added benefit of helping soften the ride a little bit too…

I was planning on waiting for the Meridian but was disappointed to learn it’ll be kind of a middle trim level and missing things found on the Premium and above (heated steering wheel, Bose stereo and a few other features). I know those are superficial toys but, I want what I want…

Interested to hear your thoughts

Hi @Alex C welcome to the forum. I don't think you'd have an issue going with that size of a tire increase. But I'd recommend when you get your CX-50 to go to a tire shop and get a second opinion.

As far as your tire choices go both the BFGs and Falkens are solid tires. When are you expected to get your CX-50?

I have seen a 50 with those wildpeaks on the 20's and I guess they daily it so I assume they have no contact issues. I am considering doing the same thing in the coming weeks since I dont want a second set of wheels hanging around.
